From July 2021 when we moved here, through all our farm life lessons and projects.
Early Years
Barns and fences! We needed something quick so we could move our horse home, so we went with a 2 stall shedrow with tack and feed rooms, built by the Amish - Streamfield Structures. Then we had the ground work done for a 60ft round pen and I thought a meteor had struck when I came back from a work trip to this site.

Keeping Up The Momentum
We built a 20ft run-in shed for the field plus a couple hay huts, and added fences and footing to the round pen so we had a nice safe place to work with the youngsters. Darcie volunteered her services as mower dog.

Never Stop Learning
More tractoring, seeding, repairing damage from storms. Finished my tack room interior and built my own custom saddle racks. Learned a lot about winterizing in a smart way. Added more (better) footing to the round pen and got the posts and roof up for our new 60ft hay barn!

What Next?
Phase One: We finished the water conservation project in order to protect our creek from the dirtying influence of our animals that live in the rear fields of the property. The county provides financial assistance in exchange for fencing off a portion of our land around the creek, and will provide a new well and automatic waterers.

Phase Two: Now that there is water and power and fencing completed, it's on to the NEW barn! We have some design plans drafted for a 7 stall courtyard barn, with a second story apartment and hope to get started this year.
