Equestrian

Liberty Rose Equestrian is a small and growing business with 30 acres of horse paddocks, cow pasture, and forest. On the equestrian side we focus on breeding and raising Holsteiners, as well as adopting and training OTTBs for resale.

We believe horses tell us what they enjoy and tailor our training accordingly to ensure happy horses that have long, fulfilling lives with their human partners.

Our Children
Our first English Labrador entered our lives in 2012 when we lived in Charlottesville, VA and we have been obsessed with the breed ever since. Currently three lovable bed hogs let us live with us: Darcie, her son Ashley, and our devilish pup Isla.
How We Started
From City to Country
After 7 years in Herndon living the Suburban life and commuting out west to be with the horses and wineries and people we love, we decided in 2021 to up and move. This 30 acre property was the very first we looked at, and the last!
Our Growth Story
We loved it for the blank slate it provided (no barn, almost no fences), the hilly terrain with a creek, and the Free State reputation if we're being honest. Since we took over we've added the small barn, foal paddock, round pen, grass arena, hay barn, and set up fields for the horses and cows. We added a dog safe fence around the house with a corner just for the chickens.
Coming Soon (ish)
Future plans include eventually putting up a courtyard barn with upstairs apartment, full size jumping arena, and a garage that isn't 100+ years old.

Emily's office job when not running things at home on the farm is as the Network Development and Business Manager for Lamborghini Americas, which fortunately and unfortunately takes her to Italy and away from the farm a few times a year. It's worth it for the pasta.
Logan's non-farm job is working for a private company outside of DC doing complicated data things for complicated ...things...
It's very private.
